One-Day Response to Intervention (RTI) Forum
Monday, February 8, 2010, in Columbus, Ohio

School decision makers face many choices as they implement RTI strategies required under the 2004 Individuals with Disabilities Improvement act (IDEA). Effective RTI implementation takes a variety of approaches that are well-coordinated, with the ultimate goal of student achievement and success. Whatever the stage of your school or district's implementation, this one-day forum offers valuable and timely information.

Participate with school leaders and teams from across the country as you learn
• how to use guiding principles and research findings to begin or improve your RTI program
• Reading Recovery's part in an RTI plan
• components in comprehensive literacy that work together, including Reading Recovery, K–5 literacy groups, and classroom interventions
• ways to support each child's learning
• how other schools and leaders are making decisions about assessment, progress monitoring, and selection interventions

Dr. Marjorie Lipson, University of Vermont, and Dr. Karen Wixson, University of Michigan, co-chairs of the International Reading Association's Commission on Response to Intervention
